Ok, So...What!?
Exactly. SO WHAT!?!
This section is supposed to be about me...and I guess it'll start off that way since the old adage is...write about what you know about, and I'm the Subject matter Expert A+++ on ME.
I wasn't always. I mean, there where times in my life when I didn't know who the heck I was. And during those times just about anyone could have been a better expert on me than me...just read a little history about ME and there you are...a Bona Fide Expert!
Doesn't everyone have those times? No? You didn't? You ALWAYS knew who you were? Wow. You must be famous & rich or something...
Which reminds me as I'm writing this...I should replace some of these pictures with my own, since that is something I do. I like going places and taking pictures of those places. Not wonderful artistic shots, or really technically perfect shots, just shots I like.
I have a small amount of equipment. I guess I'd say I'm a low to middle amateur photographer. Every so often something comes along I'm proud of for one reason or another. Probably because the shot says something to me personally. Which (doh!) is why I took the shot in the first place.
For those who care, I have a small selection of Canon (& Canon compatible) Lenses. Once upon a time I had a very nice Nikon body & some misc lenses to go with it. The body was just great (an F2) but the lenses, other than he really nice 1.4 Nikkor, where, eh, so-so. But it was a great set up to learn. Everything was manual in THOSE DAYs so you had to become proficient with the camera & it's settings. And it was heavy, although, given some of the glass I haul around now....it was no big deal.
Glass...That's my point on camera's I guess. Consider the glass you want to use, and then find the matching bodies. It's not my original thought...probably learned it from photo.net or photozone.de, both EXCELLENT reference sites. Just don't get too hung up on the purists & their picky stuff. Remember this is supposed to be a hobby (for most of us) and you should actually ENJOY your photography. Unless your somewhat like me and tend to obsess over everything.
About Me
By now, if you've read through any of this at all, you've noted a tendency towards stream-of-conscious-monolog. That is generally the criticism of my writing. Ok, I admit it. I do write like that. And noting it does prove one thing. I am conscious! (Conscious enough to notice & accept criticism.)
You'll also note that there probably should be drum shots every so often to punctuate the feeble attempts at humor. But I couldn't figure out how to make that work...at the right time anyway. It's always better live.
This is also going to sound somewhat shrill during instances where I rant on this or that. Once you understand that I'm currently living in the METRO DETROIT AREA you understand that employment (!) is a particular interest of mine.
Yes, I like being employed. From time to time I actually am...employed, but when I'm not, things get a bit higher pitched. Most folks probably can understand that. If you can't ... SO WHAT?!
